We regret to inform you that your film has not been selected in the International and Lab Competitions of the 2009 Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival.
Amongst 4,783 submitted films, 74 have been selected in the International Competition and 36 in the Lab Competition.

has been selected for screening in the Competition section of SIGNS 2009 that will take place in Kalabhavan and Tagore theatre, THIRUVANANTHAPURAM from 12th to 19th February 2009. The screening schedule will be ready with in a week. Kindly send a 35mm/ DV/ Mini DV copy of the film with English subtitles as soon as possible.
Also please send the photograph of the Director, 3 stills from the movie, a synopsis (50 – 60 words) and a brief biography of the director, if not already submitted with the entry.
We will be glad to provide any more information on our Festival that you may need at this stage. We sincerely hope that you will accept our invitation to present your film at the SIGNS 2009.

Fabio Scacchioli, Jackson Pollock’s funerals, 16’32, Italie, 2007
Synopsis : Réflexion sur les concepts de gestuelle et de trace, en partant des théories de Jacques Derrida ; l’image comme témoignage, l’image ne peut être que le signe de quelque chose (d’inconnaissable) qui passe, un signe muet qui cache plus qu’il ne révèle.
Bio : Fabio Scacchioli est né en Italie en 1979. Après des études en Sciences de la Communication, il écrit une thèse sur le langage du cinéma expérimental. Depuis 2006, il vit à Rome où il réalise des performances et des vidéos.
Yeonjeong Kim, Masking for serene velocity-Heat Shot 3, 11’, Corée du Sud, 2008
Synopsis : Référence au film incontournable d’Ernie Gehr, Serene Velocity, il explore la vitesse et le mouvement entre les signes ordinaires et les souvenirs. La collision entre le 16 mm et le 35 mm crée de nouveaux mouvements et de nouvelles significations sur la matérialité du film aussi bien que des émotions subtiles.
Bio : Yeonjeong Kim est réalisateur de films expérimentaux, photographe et programmateur pour le festival EXIS de Séoul.
Neil Ira Needleman, Last Request, 12’, USA, 2007, sous-titré
Synopsis : Un homme d’affaires mourant raconte sa relation avec son père, artiste. Comme son père était un artiste dadaïste, il a été conduit au monde des affaires ; l’expression artistique du père s’oppose au pragmatisme du fils, l’irrévérence du père contraste violemment avec le besoin de sens et de raison du fils.
Bio : Neil Ira Needleman est né à Brooklyn en 1957. Après une carrière dans le milieu de la publicité, ce qu’il considère lui-même comme une erreur de parcours, il se dirige vers le milieu du film expérimental.

Synopsis : Un petit oiseau frappe sans cesse une fenêtre pour sauver les pommes qui pourraient se perdre dans la cité actuelle des hommes. Ces chocs amènent avec eux la poésie de la création.
Bio : Robin Das est réalisateur de courts-métrages et de films documentaires, qui jouissent d’une certaine reconnaissance en Inde. Il tente maintenant de les diffuser dans le monde entier.
